Point System

The Point System is the one real "Stat System" we use. If you have done Jumpchains or CYOA before, you may know that they use Points with which you buy things. Our Forum uses a system similar to that, and as such, there won't be any number crunching necessary. So for example, we won't use things like "Strength: 100, Agility: 500"; but instead will use something like "Supernatural Strength, Inhuman Speed" ant the like. They are loose terms at best, and are simply used to make the roleplay more organic and natural rather than everyone doing whatever they want with tools they shouldn't have. This will include LITERALLY everything, so it is essential that you understand how it works, as Haki, Devil Fruit Capabilities and so much more will depend on this system. But worry not, this system isn't hard at all and could be said to be almost instinctive.

What you'll have to know first of all is that you start with 50 Points to appoint as needed. This encompasses just about everything, including Physical Capabilities, Talents, Fighting Styles, Haki, Devil Fruit Capabilities, NPC Relations and even perks such as having NPC Companions you may define as you wish, so you should use them sparingly. You'll write them down in your Character Template upon submission in the respective areas meant for them, and it should have the cost in brackets. More on to that later when you actually start making the character, as the Template Thread will have all the info you need to understand how to make a character.

So now you'll need to learn how to use them after you know how much you start with. You'll see Price Tags such as "Subpar Strength(+5 Points), Peak Human Strength(Free), Inhuman Strength(5 Points), Superhuman Strength(10 Points)" and so on. As you may have understood, you may have Peak Human Strength for free, and you'll just automatically have it unless you upgrade to the next level or take the "Subpar" option, which actually gives you points rather than having you pay it. Now when Subpar comes into the scheme, it becomes a bit more complicated. You'll have to pay 5 Points to gain the Peak Human Strength Trait, as you've more or less "borrowed" 5 Points.

As for everything else, you'd have to pay the difference between the level you possess and the next one. So for example, if you have Inhuman Strength, it means you've paid 5 Points. Then the next level, which is Superhuman Strength costs 10 Points. Via basic math, we can see that 10 - 5 = 5, so you'd need to pay 5 more Points rather than a whole 10 Points. So if you know this, you'll basically understand the entire system, more or less. The contents may wary, but everything works like this. And hereby, you've finally gotten the description of how the system works and probably understand it. Congratulations.

Gaining Points

You know how to use your points, and you know how much you have at the start. So now you should be wondering "How the hell do I get more points?" Worry not, for it'll be explained in a moment. If you're here without reading the Community Guideline first, then please do so. And if you have, and haven't joined the Discord Server, we'll have to ask you to do so as well as it is where most of the communication we have happens. Forums are convenient for formatting and are overall perfect for roleplaying, but in terms of community, Discord is more organic (Click Here).

Now back to where we were. You basically gain points every time you roleplay, but to make it a bit fair for those among us who have a life (there's a surprising amount of people who do not), this does not get rewarded after the roleplay is over, but both during and afterward. So that means we'll have a Completion Bonus and a Roleplaying Bonus, which would mean that you'd get the Roleplaying Bonus while roleplaying and the Completion Bonus is, well, given after it's completed.

Roleplaying Bonus: Every week, if at least 4 posts were made in a singular thread, the Roleplayer(s) that has(have) posted will get 2 Points from each tread they are participating in. This only applies to regular ones, and does not encompass Events, and you may only participate in 3 Threads at once with a single character. We won't stop you from having several and participating in 3 each, as that's good for the Forum in terms of activity, so go ahead if you want to.

Completion Bonus: After a roleplay is concluded, based on some criteria, they will be graded and you will be granted a maximum Point reward of 15 (without the Multiple Person benefit). This takes several things into account, which include but are not limited to the quality of posts; the content and what happens there, and whether or not it's impactful; how well the storytelling and execution are; as well as how many people are in the scene. The last one is just about the only one you may need to know, but a post about the Criteria we hold will be there for you to take a look at if you wish.

  • 1 Person / Solo Roleplay: Maximum Reward of 5. May not gain a Roleplaying Bonus.

  • 2 Person / Duo Roleplay:Maximum Reward of 10.

  • 3 Person / Trio Roleplay: Maximum Reward of 15.

  • 4+ Person / Multiple Person Roleplay: Adds +3 for each Roleplayer beyond 3, so if there are 4, the Maximum will be 18; and if there are 5, the Maximum will be 21 and so on.

Reputation System

Aside from the Point System, we also have something of a Reputation System. This is the thing that denotes just how famous you are in terms of renown and just about everything that is needed to make the roleplay more dynamic. The reason that it's being written here, rather than in its separate thread is because, well... it's based on your Total Points. Your deeds do add up to it, but your Total Points are used as a "base" of sorts, if you will. And as the system is designed for the long-term, it may seem to be a bit tedious. But not to worry. The journey is what matters, not the goal. Otherwise why would we even watch One Piece instead of waiting for Luffy to get to Raftel? There'd just be no substance at all is why. These will be denoted by Ranks.

Rank 1 - Blues Rookie: 50 Points
Rank 2 - Blues Veteran: 75 Points
Rank 3 - Blues Monster: 100 Points
Rank 4 - Blues Superpower: 150 Points
Rank 5 - Paradise Rookie: 200 Points
Rank 6 - Paradise Veteran: 500 Points
Rank 7 - Paradise Monster: 750 Points
Rank 8 - Paradise Superpower: 1000 Points
Rank 9 - New World Rookie: 1500 Points
Rank 10 - New World Veteran: 2000 Points
Rank 11 - New World Monster: 3500 Points
Rank 12 - New World Superpower: 5000 Points

1. Blues Rookie: People of this rank are at best unremarkable. They’ve yet to prove themselves on the high seas and prove little to no threat to anyone with mild experience. Whether they are an excitable pirate captain or an even more excitable Marine recruit they’ve got a lot to prove before they’ll be taken seriously by anyone. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Romance Dawn and Shells Town.

2. Blues Veteran: People of this rank have gotten several feats under their belts and have made a name for themselves in their respective Blue. Whether they’ve defeated a formidable enemy, defied the World Government, or committed impressive feats of strength for the average person they’ve earned the respect, admiration, or disdain of average people and those of equal power. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Orange Town and Syrup Village.

3. Blues Monster: People of this rank are at best unremarkable.

4. Blues Superpower: People of this rank are not people to be trifled with. People considered to be Blues Superpowers are formidable individuals who have proven their strength against people as great or greater than them. Most people from the Blues who come across them couldn’t even dream of bringing them down. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Arlong Park and Whiskey Peak.

5. Paradise Rookie: People of this rank are extremely formidable opponents to those in the Blues but are barely better than fodder once they enter the first half of the Grand Line. In order for people to survive in the terror that is Paradise, they’ll have to give it everything they’ve got. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Little Garden and Drum Island.

6. Paradise Veteran: People of this rank have finally risen to become a worthy opponent to those who inhabit the first part of the Grand Line. By strengthening themselves and standing up to the horrors of these new lands they’ve been able to grow above those who stood before them and now face greater foes. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Alabasta and Skypiea.

7. Paradise Monster: People of this rank have finally been able to give themselves a name that almost all people can recognize when it's spoken. They’ve accomplished feats that some people can’t even believe and some that you can do nothing but believe as it’s the only explanation to describe the destruction they bring with them. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Water 7 and Enies Lobby.

8. Paradise Superpower: People of this rank have dominated the place most people could never dream of ever visiting --the Grand Line. After fighting countless enemies and leaving destruction in their path, they’ve made a name that even those in high places pay attention to. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Thriller Bark and Sabaody Archipelago.

9. New World Rookie: People of this rank have entered Hell itself, the New World. In this place that’s even more dangerous to them than when they entered Paradise, they will face horrors and enemies they could never have fathomed before. They must work the hardest they ever have to simply survive. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Marineford and Fish-Man Island.

10. New World Veteran: By some miracle, the people of this rank have survived the living hell that is the New World. They’ve become a figurehead of power and strength and they’ve become living myths to those in the Blues and even the beginning of Paradise. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Punk Hazard and Dressrosa.

11. New World Monster: People of this rank have become the dictionary definition of a monster. They strike fear and unease into those they oppose and even sometimes in those they command and protect. People this powerful have become so powerful they prop up kingdoms based solely on their strength and power. People of this tier present abilities equal to those shown in Whole Cake Island and Wano.

12. New World Superpower: People of this rank have reached a level of power that is completely unprecedented. They defy the limits of what mortal beings should be capable of and go even further. Any hope of these people dying in combat is slim to none, the only thing that can kill people this strong is time itself. People of this tier present abilities equal to only the strongest One Piece has ever seen such as the Emperors, the Admirals, and the Pirate King.
